The family of Derek Larkin, the assistant manager of Biddestone Stud who died on April 3 at the age of 32, has announced plans for a service of thanksgiving for Derek’s life.
The memorial service is to take place on Friday, April 26 at St Nicholas’ Church, Biddestone at 2pm. A statement issued by the Larkin family read: “We, Derek’s loving family, have been simply overwhelmed by the vast amount of heartfelt good wishes from so many people who felt blessed to have Derek enrich their lives in so many ways. Be their involvement with Derek large or small, his effect on people was always significant.
“We would like to welcome anyone in Derek’s life, be they friends, neighbours, work colleagues, or anyone who feels they want to share this time with his loving family, to celebrate the breadth and depth of Derek’s life, in a service of thanksgiving at the church in Derek’s home village.”
Irish-born Larkin leaves a wife, Laura, and daughter, Niamh.
