ROA’s bumper day at Exeter

ROA Members enjoyed a fabulous day’s racing at Exeter on Tuesday after the meeting survived three inspections in the morning.

It was the first ROA Raceday of 2020 and included the organisation’s highly popular Regional Meeting. Over 100 members were in the River Rooms overlooking the course to discuss the latest ROA initiatives and the more wider Industry issues currently under the microscope.

After lunch, members were given the opportunity to choose the best turned out horses in the paddock and present winning owners with their trophies for the eight-race ROA-sponsored card.

The day was one highly popular for syndicates who owned five of the eight winners on the day owned by large groups of owners in attendance; Kilconny Bridge was an impressive winner of the first race for Potwell Racing, Gustavian ran out a ready winner for Decimus Racing whilst Lily the Pink scored for the Wessex Racing Club.

Aaron Lad landed the Novice Chase on the card and the day was rounded off by Red Rookie’s victory in the Bumper for the Hawk Inn Syndicate.

Unfortunately, the Jackpot race was not won by a qualifying owner, but there are eleven more chances to win a £2,000 bonus and where you can join the ROA at one of their Racedays around the country in the remainder of 2020:

  • Bangor – 18 February
  • Musselburgh – 31 March
  • Sedgefield – 21 April
  • Huntingdon – 7 May
  • Newcastle – 2 June
  • Brighton – 13 July
  • Chepstow – 11 August
  • Nottingham – 30 September
  • Carlisle – 22 October
  • Fakenham – 30 November
  • Haydock Park – 2 December

The Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) has around 8,000 members and promotes and protects the interests of racehorse owners in Great Britain. Since 1945 they have been making members’ racehorse ownership more cost-effective and enjoyable.
