Whitsbury Manor Stud’s Showcasing continued his excellent season on Sunday when his first-crop son Cappella Sansevero became his first Group winner with victory in the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh.

A 25,000gns yearling, Cappella Sansevero, trained by Ger Lyons, subsequently took top billing at the inaugural Goffs London Sale when being knocked down to Sheikh Fahad Al Thani for £1.3 million. The following afternoon he ran second to The Wow Signal in the Coventry Stakes, having already won the Listed Marble Hill Stakes at the end of May.

A Juddmonte-bred son of Oasis Dream, Showcasing is currently lying in second place in the European first-crop sires’ table behind Starspangledbanner, sire of subsequent Group 1 Prix Morny winner The Wow Signal. From 44 runners, he has 19 individual winners, including the Group 3-placed Toocoolforschool.
