Three days after failing to capture the race named in his honour, David Hardaker’s 11-year-old Dvinsky bounced back to land his 18th career victory on his 201st start when winning Kempton’s six-furlong William Hill Handicap on Saturday evening.

On Wednesday, the son of Stravinsky was beaten only a length and a half into fourth place in the ‘Skysports.com Dvinsky’s 200th Run Racing Handicap’ over the same course and distance. In addition to his 18 wins, the gelding has also been placed on 62 occasions, having made his first appearance on a racecourse in the August of his juvenile season.

Since November last year, Dvinsky has been trained by Paul Howling, the second time he has been under his care, having also been trained through his eventful career by Michael Squance, Jane Chapple-Hyam, Mark Allen, Roy Bowring, Declan Carroll, Tony Carroll and Gerard Butler.

Bred by Eclipse Bloodstock and Tipperary Bloodstock, he was sold as a yearling at Goffs by Marlhill House Stud for €200,000 but has since passed through the sales ring for £1,800 at DBS in December 2010. He was not sold for £1,700 just two months ago at Brightwells Sale at Ascot.
