Having recently announced that Arrigo has joined its ranks, Yorton Farm Stud in Welshpool has unveiled its 2021 fees with the line-up headed by Gentlewave at £3,250.
The Classic-winning son of Monsun is best known as the sire of last year’s impressive Cross-Country Chase winner Easysland and has had his fee clipped from the £3,500 he stood at last year.
Gentlewave will stand alongside another son of Monsun in the shape of Masterstroke, who will command £3,000 instead of £3,750 in 2020, and Linda’s Lad, the sire of Toust Est Permis and Cash Back who is offered to breeders at £2,500.
Studmates Pether’s Moon and Scalo will stand for £2,000 while newest recruit Arrigo has had his price set at £1,300. Yorton has also revealed that previous stud stalwart Norse Dancer, the sire of Yanworth, has departed to Nunstainton Stud in County Durham.
Stud Director David Futter said: “We have lowered all our stud fees to help breeders during this uncertain time. We can offer a stallion to suit all jumping mares and a range of budgets.
“Our new sire Arrigo, a beautifully-bred, good-looking son of leading jump sire Shirocco, has been introduced at £1,300. We believe this gives him every chance to secure a good book of mares and make a mark in his first season in Britain.
“We have worked closely with the Dawson family on a number of projects and this is a great opportunity for Norse Dancer to continue his career in another area of the county. He remains fertile and willing and should prove very successful.”
Chris Dawson jnr of Nunstainton Stud added: “Norse Dancer is a proven sire with no negatives. We have a number of small owner-breeders among our clients and he will suit their mares. We are grateful to Dave, Lester and Riley Futter for helping us bring this grand horse to the north of England.”
Yorton Farm is also offering breeders the chance to win a free nomination to any of its stallions as part of the stud’s annual prize draw.
