Following the temporary suspension of National Hunt racing at Southwell racecourse following eight equine deaths since July, the BHA announced on Tuesday that three of the track’s upcoming fixtures have been transferred to new venues.
The September 15 fixture will now be held at Hexham and the meetings scheduled for October 1 and October 22 will take place at Ffos Las and Lingfield respectively.
All three will be afternoon fixtures comprising seven races, with the opportunity to divide to eight races if required.
Entry and declaration deadlines will be as normal while the race programme for the two October fixtures will be confirmed at a later date. All three cards will be similar to the original planned programme with slight changes where required to accommodate the change of region.
