Do Your Job on top

Irish pointer Do Your Job topped the one-day Goffs UK Autumn HIT Sale on Thursday when selling to Mark Dunphy and Derek O’Connor for £150,000.

A son of the late Fame And Glory, the five-year-old had impressed many when he won his debut point-to-point for Colin Bowe at Castletown-Geoghegan earlier this month.

O’Connor said: “We are delighted to have purchased him, he was the standout lot today and is to go into training with Claire Dyson. He’s an athletic type and Colin has produced some cracking horses such as Samcro and Malone Road, so hopefully he can follow in their footsteps.”

Goffs UK Managing Director Tony Williams said: “Today’s sale demonstrated once again the strength at the top of the market with the Listed-placed and four-time winner Buzz and debut winning Irish pointer Do Your Job selling well – the latter matching last year’s top price of £150,000.

“This sale has produced some outstanding racehorses such as the triple Grade 1 winner Supasundae and we wish our buyers, who have travelled from throughout Europe and the Middle East, the very best of luck with their purchases.”

December Mares Sale catalogue published

Having already announced that Coplow, the dam of 1,000 Guineas and Sun Chariot Stakes heroine Billesdon Brook, and Group 1-winning sprinter Mabs Cross were to be offered at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale, the catalogue for the auction has now been published.

The 2019 renewal will see 1,020 lots go under the hammer, including Blanc De Chine, the dam of Havana Grey, and the first part of the Waddesdon Stud dispersal.

Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said: “The Tattersalls December Sale is Europe’s premier breeding stock sale, and this year’s catalogue, which features the first part of the Waddesdon Stud dispersal, is truly worthy of that accolade.

“The December Sale is the annual showcase for the very best breeding stock that Europe has to offer and this year’s catalogue has all the ingredients to attract the uniquely international crowd of buyers who view the sale as an essential annual pilgrimage.”

Five wildcards added to Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale

The Cool Silk Partnership’s Summer Sands, an excellent third in last month’s Group 1 Middle Park Stakes, is one of five wildcards added to next week’s Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.

James Fanshawe’s Pondus, the Joseph O’Brien-trained Pasley, Jim Bolger’s Ten Year Ticket and first time out two-year-old winner Seasony completes the wildcards.
