The Cambridgeshire meeting gets underway at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile today with the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes (7f) taking centre stage.

A field of six will go to post for the race with trainer William Haggas and jockey Tom Marquand looking to continue their run of form that saw them capture last week’s Ayr Gold Cup with Nahaarr.

The pair combine on Yazaman, who like Nahaarr sports the colours of owner Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, and the two-year-old could become yet another juvenile stakes winner for Tally-Ho Stud’s flagship stallion Kodiac.

Yazaman will be up against the Mark Johnston-trained Qaader and Godolphin’s exciting prospect La Barrosa, who got the eye when landing a 7f maiden at Ascot earlier this month

The field is completed by Prix Robert Papin scorer Ventura Tormenta, the Jane Chapple-Hyam-trained Albadri and Roger Varian’s Dark Lion.

Away from Newmarket there are Flat meetings held at Pontefract, Listowel and Kempton today while Perth hosts a National Hunt card.
