Goffs and Tattersalls have combined to produce a new point-to-point sales schedule that will provide wide and varied opportunities for vendors and purchasers during the busy upcoming autumn period.

It means that the new Goffs UK November Point-to-Point Sale will now take place at Yorton Farm on November 12, a date that Tattersalls has vacated as part of the collaborative approach to avoid any potential clashes between both sales houses.

Auctions for the remainder of the year will adhere to the following schedule:

Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale (live online sale to be conducted from Fairyhouse) on Friday, November 6

Goffs UK November Point-to-Point Sale (at Yorton Farm Stud, Powys) on Thursday, November 12

Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale (live online sale to be conducted from Fairyhouse) on Thursday, November 19

Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale (held at Park Paddocks, Newmarket) on Thursday, December 3

Goffs UK December Sale (held at the Doncaster sales complex) on Friday, December 4

Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale (held at Fairyhouse) on Thursday, December 17

These auctions are permitted within current government guidelines but may subject to further change if restrictions are altered at any time.

Tim Kent, Goffs UK Managing Director, said: “We would like to thank Tattersalls for their proactive approach to solving the problem of how best to serve and assist the Point to Point market during this busy autumn period.

“The restrictions created by Covid have made it very difficult to schedule these sales and both sales companies agree that we must work together to do the right thing by our mutual clients.

“We are therefore very grateful to Tatteralls for agreeing to alter their schedule and move away from their proposed November fixture, which has allowed the Yorton P2P Sale to take place on that date. We already have entries for this sale and look forward to completing the catalogue in the coming weeks.”

“Both Goffs and ourselves were very aware that we need to provide a schedule that works for all vendors and purchasers whilst not precluding anyone from taking part in the sale,” added Matt Prior, Head of Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales.

“We therefore see the merit in vacating the November date and believe that the revised schedule of six sales between now and Christmas should fully service the Point-to-Point market during this busy time.

“The revised schedule includes a mixture of online events together with the more traditional sales and we look forward to what we hope will be some spirited bidding at all of these sales in the coming months.”
