The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) has joined forces with one of Britain’s top three-day event riders, Tina Cook. The TBA will be working with Tina to introduce its benefits and services to breeders, fans and riders within and beyond racing world.
An Olympic Silver medallist at London 2012 and the 2009 European Champion, Cook is known for eventing and breeding thoroughbreds, also trains National Hunt and Point-to-Point horses with her brother, Nick Gifford. She competes a number of thoroughbreds and this season will see her bring two ex-racehorses onto the eventing circuit.
Cook’s background and involvement across both spheres makes her the perfect ambassador for the TBA, which is hoping to extend its membership via additional equestrian sports where thoroughbreds are used, particularly in the world of eventing.
Commenting on her new role, Cook said: “I’m extremely proud to be in partnership with the TBA, its is an association that continues to invest in this wonderful breed by working hard to support breeders and the industry. From political lobbying to incentive schemes, it has done a great deal to protect the British thoroughbred’s future. Through membership, The TBA has so much to offer and I’m looking forward to sharing this with the eventing world.”

To celebrate this new sponsorship, the TBA is inviting new and current members to join Tina Cook on a TBA course walk at Badminton Horse Trials on Thursday, May 8. This is a unique opportunity to see the world renowned course through the eyes of an Olympian gaining exclusive insight into how the huge fences and tricky combinations will be ridden.
