Divinely, the Galileo full sister to three-time Group 1 heroine Found, broke her maiden on the fourth attempt when she took top honours in the Group 3 Flame Of Tara Stakes at the Curragh on Friday.

Jockey Wayne Lordan elected to hold up the filly in the early stages of the race as Rosscarbery and Dolce Notte took the early lead in the mile contest.

Passing two furlongs from home, Divinely was travelling well and began making progress on the outside of the field while the Joseph O’Brien-trained Ubuntu had hit the front.

Under the drive of Lordan, Divinely continued to stick to her task and she got to the line half a length ahead of Fozzy Stack’s Ahandfulofsummers with a further short-head back to Ubuntu in third.

With victory, Divinely becomes the fourth black type winner produced by dual Group 1 winner Red Evie alongside the aforementioned Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe scorer Found, the Group 3-winning pair Magical Dream and Best In The World.

That success was the second leg of a double for Lordan and trainer Aidan O’Brien, who had combined in the meeting’s opening race when Galileo colt Brazil took the mile maiden by a neck from the Ger Lyons-trained Colour Sergeant.

Bred by Lynch Bages and Camas Park Stud, Brazil is out of the Anabaa mare Dialafara which makes him a brother to Irish Derby and St Leger winner Capri and the Group 3 scorers Cypress Creek and Passion.

Also at the Curragh on Friday, Jim Bolger’s homebred New Treasure was another who broke its maiden when running out the 66-1 winner of the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes (6f) and in the Group 3 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes (1m1f), that race went the way of Thundering Nights.

A’Shaari impresses at Newmarket

Over at Newmarket’s July Course another well-bred individual was off the mark on Friday when the Charlie Appleby-trained A’Shaari was an impressive three and a half length winner of the 7f novice stakes.

The daughter of Dubawi is a sister to Wuhedia, who was trained by Appleby to win four races including the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac and the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly Maree and Turf.
