Qatar Racing has a new addition to its broodmare band after purchasing Con Te Partiro in a private deal.

The daughter of Scat Daddy, an impressive winner of the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2017, failed to make the reserve placed on her during Monday’s opening session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

David Redvers, Qatar Racing’s Manager, told the BloodHorse: “She’s definitely coming back to Tweenhills Stud in England for Qatar Racing.

“At the moment, the [stallion] options will be either Kameko, Zoustar, or possibly Frankel or Dubawi. There is a debate going on with Sheikh Fahad and his team. We’re just sort of looking around and seeing what is best. We’ve made no final decision.”

Having begun her career under the care of Wesley Ward, Con Te Partiro made her debut as a two-year-old in 2016 and soon made an impression by winning the Bolton Landing Stakes before finishing second in the Juvenile Turf Sprint.

The following year at three, her biggest success came at the Royal meeting and after her four-year-old campaign, she was purchased by SF Bloodstock and Newgate Farm for $575,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed Sale in 2018.

That led to her making the switch to Australia to be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, winning the Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic, the Group 1 Coolmore Classic and the Group 1 Legacy Stakes.
