Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud is holding open days on January 9 and 10, at which breeders will have the chance to see two new stallions recently arrived from Australia. Champion two-year-old Sepoy and Caulfield Guineas winner Helmet touched down in Newmarket on Saturday and will be shown alongside fellow new retiree Casamento, the winner of the Racing Post Trophy for Sheikh Mohammed.
Darley homebred Sepoy, a son of Elusive Quality from the family of Canny Lad, is to stand his first European season at Dalham Hall Stud, while Helmet, by Exceed And Excel out of Singspiel’s daughter Accessories, heads to Kildangan Stud in Ireland after being shown to breeders in England.
Also recently returned from Australia is the newly crowned European champion freshman sire New Approach, sire of an unprecedented Royal Ascot juvenile stakes hat-trick and now off the mark in Australia with his very first runner.
He his joined on parade by Dubawi, the sire of nine Group 1 winners whose 2013 crop will include foals by the Classic winners Zarkava, Ouija Board, Natagora, Casual Look and Eswarah. The 11-year-old is a permanent resident at Dalham Hall Stud and was joined last year by his son Poet’s Voice, whose first foals are due this month and who has just completed his first shuttle season in Australia.
Also available for viewing each day at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm are Kheleyf, the sire of 42 individual two-year-old winners in 2012, Derby winner Authorized, Halling, Shirocco, Vale Of York, Iffraaj and Exceed And Excel.
